Last weekend I picked up an Alienware to play some games and do some VR stuff. It's still a shit experience compared to the Mac but it was: Cheap, Powerful and worked.

That's why these views have very similar elements. The match view is a bit reduntant which I agree with you there, but its feature they wouldn't toss out.

Posted to The new Google Material icons could use some work, Nov 28, 2015 never been a fan of the material design icon set. It's the weakest link of the design framework and IMHO going with a different set will greatly improve your design.
