Just because it is a trend, still does not mean it is good :)

Agree with Matt here. Retro design is cool when it harkens back to a time when design was cool or interesting. This web design time period was not one of those. The 90's were the lost soul of design, web design was trying to find it's voice in this new thing. This was a serious waste of budget for Adidas.

Use what is appropriate for the subject and the brand. Gap is never going to have a dark theme design because it does not work with their brand. This dark themed website works for the Tesla Roadster, because it fits the theme (A pretty common usage for conveying high-end automobiles): https://www.tesla.com/roadster

Faraday alternates between light and dark blocks: https://www.ff.com/ It works.

Use what fits the brand and subject matter to set the tone for what you want to convey. Obviously while still keeping usability in mind for whatever direction you go in, in terms of a color tone theme.

Was going to say the same thing. Tried it yesterday and today. It just spins and never updates with any real results when you do an actual search (as opposed to the system demo one).

Seems like a great concept though.

ahh makes sense now. I did not get it until I got to read the new info about it on the site.

agreed. They should have put in place and accepted higher res shots for some time before this change. Poor foresight from the dribbble team.

It is extremely inconsistent with how they are shown. Some are big, some are small still (old size even though they are 2x)

    Showing small: https://dribbble.com/shots/5009116-Ueno-Newsletter-August-21-2018 Large: https://dribbble.com/shots/5006932-Epi-3

Why the difference? Also, the whole thing just feels really unpolished now for some reason in both a modal and full page view.

Never knew that. Not an intuitive search at all really.

Should be able to sort by date. Do a search about something you saw 3 weeks ago and you get things from 5 years ago more at the top than the latest.

Interesting to see this little screen shot Stephen. Really what I am looking more out of studio for is prototyping/animating. Is there any good tutorials or documentation on how to do timeline style animation? I think that might be what I am missing from the first peek I took at it and could be helpful to get up to speed faster.
