So, let me preface this with I've been using sketch since 2013 and absolutely loved it. Tried figma a few times over the years, but sketch was my main.
Thennnn I was on a larger project with 3 other remote designers and we were spending ~1 hour a day just trying to merge our commits in abstract and all be in sync. We did a trial run on figma for a sprint and it absolutely blew my mind. So much more productive to be able to design things together and follow each other around in the file.
Also, you add in auto-layout (which is basically the animaa app for sketch built in to figma) and now you're cooking!!!
The other thing that's interesting is I haven't experience ANY lag or loading time while in figma. Even really large files are totally fine and don't take any time to load no matter how many components or artboards are on the page. I can't say the same for sketch...
Took about a week to get used to, but It's very similar to sketch, just with a few extremely necessary features.
You got it Dan! More to come ;)
In this video, I'll show you how to make a progress component that has a completely variable width. With these techniques, you can use the same component to show 10% progress or 100% progress. It's simple! https://youtu.be/I-79DTuhkHs
Here is the figma file you can duplicate and try for yourself https://www.figma.com/community/file/834814505714322560/Variable-Width-Progress-Components
Yes, I just put it in the description of the youtube video, or you can snag it here https://www.figma.com/community/file/831951710788435978
Awesome! planning on making many more of them

Sorry you don't like my content. I guess it's not just for you.
And as far as design work goes, I've got the rest of 2020 booked me and 4 other designers.
Have a good one Alexandra ;)
The reason why I make these videos is because the design community as a whole takes itself way too seriously. It reeks of pride and elitism.
Also, the "random tagging" of popular designs was because I'm emulating their review styles when they've reviewed other rebrands.
Just let people enjoy things. If it's not for you, it's not for you ¯_(ツ)_/¯
You sound like a lovely person, Alexandra.
