The story is great and well written. I like the app's minimalistic and unobtrusive feel. Congrats on the launch :)

My go-to thing for this UC for now is playing music, but Albums. Not playlists that go on forever. Albums have this great property of ending after ~40 or ~50min. But sometimes, since music is a mood-altering thing, it just does not go well with productivity, or you end spending too much time choosing the right music for the present moment, so I might give it a try!

  • Posted to Humaaans, will it replace freelance designers?, May 31, 2020

To be fair, humaaans is a really well conceived design product and I tend to think its purpose is more about helping to feature more diversity in illustrations. (opinion based on the overall excellent work of its creator Pablo Stanley)

Good job on the website, it sells the app well. The app itself is quite cool too.

Feedback: When you press "backspace" to delete smthg on the canvas, it loads the previous visited page (browser default behaviour). On Firefox, mac OS.

  • Posted to Adobe XD December 2018 Updates, Dec 18, 2018

Thanks Mike! I like the update.

Fellow DN XD users, could we please get some more votes for finally getting a Button tool natively in one of our design software? :)

    Vote here : https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-xd-feature-requests/suggestions/13571298-button-tool-style-text-box-with-border-backgrou

Edit : A bit disappointed about the autosave feature... Thought I would get some kind of versionning of the file so I could revert to a previous saved version.

Super cool. Looks a bit like what https://teleporthq.io/ and https://uizard.io/ are building right now.

But your feature seems somewhat more applicable to our actual UX/UI Designers workflow. In a way, I think that this is actually easier and faster to draw simple shapes in our design apps than to sketch on paper and then take a picture etc.

Looking forward to see this kind of features integrated natively into our design softwares. Anyone from XD Team listening? ^

Also, if you could take size into account when interpreting the shapes to render images, buttons etc. This would be a major improvement.

    Congrats!!

As another option, you could also consider to use Webflow as your main tool. There are some pretty good resources available to learn quickly how to master the tool. In a few days/weeks of practice, you should be able to produce at least simple live responsive websites for your clients, with a nice CMS.

With that said, I think James advice is on point. You may be better off capitalizing on your existing skills in UX/UI and maybe find a freelance developper if you want to be able to offer a complete service to your clients.

Maggie, thanks for the invite :) Here is some random feedback while navigating on the website once logged in:

    • I felt a bit confused at first, I did not know what to do or what was expected from me. I was actually expecting to see collections instead of individual items at first.

    • Following users does not seem to change my feed? I was expecting a instagram/behance sort of behaviour: once I follow people I only get their posts. Exploring other collector's posts would be in a separate tab or smthg then.

    • It took me a bit of time to understand the icons on the left. Could be nice to add a label below the icons.

    • It also took me a while to notice the filter button, which is only available for the item feed? why not for the collection feed? :(

    • The category filters list lacks contrast, the labels are quite hard to read.

    • Some categories do not have any item to display. Why feature those empty category in the first place ?

    • On the item page, why can't I click on the collection name to access the whole collection? This should be a link. Same goes for Category and Subcategory.

    • I did not notice any comment or messaging feature, why can't I connect with other hobbyists ? Wouldn't that be the purpose of such platform?

As a global remark, it would be nice to notice at first glance what feature does especially target collectors. This feature should be the most prominent button or CTA at first login so I know what to do next. Otherwise, the website looks great and promising, but the main use cases need to be more explicit to new users :)

    Best of luck, Val

    Hi Maggie,

Did not have a chance to explore the whole site (I requested an invite). Regarding the LP: You should indeed give us at least more info since from what we see in the background, it looks like we will have quite some work to do (uploading photos of our collections, naming, describing things etc.)

The secondary pages (about, contact...) look great, I dig the look & feel of the website. However the custom scrollbar made me a bit mad since I could not click & hold it to scroll. This could be an issue for other users as well.

    Best of luck!

  • Posted to What I really want from a design tool: stateful components, Mar 27, 2018

Proto.io has had stateful components for quite a while now. Never used it to design things directly in. But quite fast to slap up a prototype with sketch imports, or pngs/jpgs if too complex for it to handle without lag.

From what I remember, you can chose the states of the components on page load, then add interaction on hover / Click / whatever that sets different states on any component(s) on the page, or even on other pages. Might be worth the look.

Though don't look for symbols overrides or the likes. It's not going that far.
