I'm actually not a fan of this, personally.

If a comment includes any URLs, this pattern obscures the hover state that confirms your cursor is over a link, and not just normal text. If you were to misclick, then not only do you not open the link, but it disappears due to the comment collapsing, leaving you in a brief moment of confusion. Added to that, you can't quickly undo the action by simply clicking where your mouse is, either—if you were to do that, you'd likely end up collapsing another comment.

Edit: I think you fixed this as I was typing up this response. Much better!

This is sad to hear. Circa has a brilliant team with an incredibly well designed product.

[The CEO] feels Circa struggled to find new investors because of the company’s focus on mobile (thus not generating millions of web pageviews) and working to retain current users via product enhancement at the expense of acquiring new users.

I think there's a good lesson here about raising venture capital. As soon as you take that money, you can no longer go about building your company however you want. It becomes about growth. You're expected to win the space, or go down trying.

With you on this one. I also disagree with the decision of flipping the dial so the marker moves counter-clockwise as the song progresses.

To their software team's credit, the problems they are solving are much more difficult.

It's the same guy. He expanded it for anyone to use, and even got some funding for it. Pretty rad. :)

Edit: Looks like Anand himself beat me to the punch!

The team behind this did a great little writeup about the entire process. The rest of their blog is worth checking out, too.

This seems awesome, but unfortunately, it was prettybuggy when I played with it.

Currently I use xScope to do this, but a lightweight in-browser extension would be dope, especially with Chrome's keyboard shortcuts for extensions.
