The LG Ultrafine 5k is an extremely satisfying display, which checks off everything on your list. Only issue I had so far is that for designing, the display tends to slow down Sketch by a bit whenever you work on a rather big file. And this happened on a maxed out MBP 15 from 2016. You should definitely try to open some files in the store before you buy it so see if your machine can handle it. Other than that, this is by far the best monitor to buy right now.
Simple and clean, solid sized typo. Great reading experience. Just wish the navigation would adhere to the same standards and use the same typeface as the rest of the page.
In terms of interactive storytelling/immersive journalism there is a lot of good work coming from the New York Times, starting with the now almost modern classic "Snow Fall", which came out in 2012 and gained them a Pulitzer price and a lot of attention at the time.
But also other publisher, mostly in the US, have released some amazing pieces in the last years. Here are some of my favourites:
2014 – Chasing Bayla, BostonGlobe
And some more recent pieces:
2016 – Shadows of New York City, NYT
If you want to see more, the Pulitzer Website has awarded a bunch of great projects over the years. I can also highly recommend the FLowing Data Blog to keep up to date with recent projects. Hope that helps.
New way of pasting is by placing elements in the artboard always on top. If you hold down SHIFT when pasting elements, you get the old behaviour.
I remember working with an early alpha version of a new Volkswagen Typeface for the global launch campaign for the Golf 7 back in 2012 - when they also refined the logo. It was much closer to the old Futura based style with only subtle changes to make it less blocky and geometric. Sad to see it turned out like this.
