    Another work around is used in Tweebot, with the far right tabbar item being customizable.

    It doesn't solve the underlying problem, but at least you keep in sight that there's other sections.

    I've been and still do a lot of product designer recruiting and see dozens of portfolio every week. For what its worth, here's the flow I take when looking at candidates:

    • Intro: I like to see the work v.s. the person first. Exception applies if you're a rockstar designer a lot of other designers know.

    • Work: Clicked the work tab, just saw one screen shot (miss the subtle link hover) and thought that was it. A lot of designers just use static images and I thought this was one. At that point I would have closed the tab.

    • Copy: Using "lorem ipsum" is a turn off. There's a lot of implication using real data in your designs and it also makes it hard to "buy-in" into the project.

    • Experience the work, vs seeing it: Whenever you can, try to make me experience the product you designed so I don't have to project myself in the designs and see if they work and how they feel overall.

    • Process: The process is great, but it's helpful only if it supports a great product experience (see point above).

    A simple thing I often use is start by saying "it's not your design work, it's ours"

    Once you've done that, there is no ambiguity as to which one will "win" the argument war. There is no competition, we are on the same boat, we both own that piece of design and try to make it successful.

    Brilliant app. Focusing on the events rather than the date tiles + that single scroll seems so obvious now.

    [Dragging a guide + alt] certainly saved me countless trackpad gestures on big screens where I had to go all the way left to grab one.
