  • Posted to Ask DN: Are you using Gmail for Work?, Apr 08, 2015

I say do it - it's easier to schedule thing with Google Docs, especially with people outside the company. Plus, Gmail is an easy email client to begin with. I think it makes sense especially bc Google integrates with many other useful apps making collaboration and productivity more seamless as well.

  • Posted to Ask DN: What do you care about most when considering a job offer?, Jan 21, 2015

Oh that's easy, for me the most important thing is whether or not I can relate and care about their product. If yes than everything else comes in like team dynamic, remote work etc. I don't have to be best friends with the people I work with - they just have to be polite and stand-up 'guys'. As long as I care about what the company is doing everything else will fall into place. I see myself sleeping in interest and worth ethic if I don't.

  • Posted to Ask DN: Websites for finding an apartment in SF?, Aug 14, 2014

Did you mean to say apartments? Also SFO is the airport in SF, so just SF will do :)

There aren't too many options for you but Craigslist and Lovely are a great start. you might also try Pad Mapper too. My best suggestion is to fist move into a rental for a couple of weeks and then start looking right away. Ask friends to ask their friends, co workers too. Ask on Twitter of Facebook too. It's hard but it's not impossible.

This might be a good read for you: https://medium.com/@dohertyjf/san-francisco-apartments-are-impossible-to-find-41c190dbe88

I like your point very much. I'd love to do that actually. But it's so hard to, you know. That's why we have such problems because unfortunately people/clients associate design with visuals.

I do think you're right, this problem should be addressed with the clients. We shouldn't allow them to dictate the process especial because we are the professionals after all.

I didn't think I'd need see Lyft's number as I find their interface very straightforward. I never said these were hard facts just what I noticed after researching many apps myself.

  • Posted to Do I need to buy an iOS device to design iOS apps? , Jul 12, 2014

No. Don't buy an iPad if you are working with iPhone simply because it's a different experience. Although they have similar features, gestures etc you use an iPhone differently than an iPad. You would use an iPhone just about anywhere. Say you are waiting at a bus stop. You'd use the iPhone to play games, text and what not. While an iPad you wouldn't be able to use in a crowded bus while standing. Those those the biggest distinctions between the two. It matters how and where people use the two devices.
