I've been collecting cameras since about 16, mainly film but I find myself following the old adage of "The best camera is the one you have on you" more and more these days. Plus, my Mamiya 7 is heavy af.

Hey Tim, thanks a ton for being here with us today! :)

I have a few questions to kick things off if that's alright:

    1. I'm wondering how you manage your work/life balance? You've been a part of so many amazing startups/apps, just wondering how you manage it all.
    2. Do you have any hobbies?
    3. What are you listening to these days?

Posts are listed in order typically but our algorithm takes things like comment engagement and post age into account as well.

    Phil,

Peep my response to Thomas for a little insight into what we're thinking in regards to badges. I think just allowing more control with the badges is a great idea. Being able to just select "hide all badges" to suit the use case you've described above is great and I'll it into our notes!

    Thomas,

We're in talks of doing something similar to this. Allowing more granular control, possibly even hiding certain badges from the homepage etc, or being able to search within a specific badge.

This is a very interesting point. I agree with you that sometimes downvoting can change what people choose to comment on, fearing the reaction of others.

How would the community feel if we just had downvotes on posts, not comments? I think that could work really well.

    Sacha,

We can strive to be a better community than other places available on the web. Just because that's how those sites behave, doesn't mean ours should follow. If people disagree on something, that is where a conversation should take place.

The sponsored posts help keep this site alive to be honest, they're very important. We only work with companies we believe benefit our community or things our community would possibly be interested in.
