About the file format -- We've already decided to not save in any proprietary, binary format. Gravit saves in pure JSON but zips the files before saving them to save space as JSON can grow quite big. However, you could easily make gunzip on the file and you'll get pure plain JSON code :D

Posted to Gravit - Free design tool public Beta available now, in reply to Andy Merskin , Aug 09, 2014 Thanks :) Yes, it all is pure HTML5, CSS3 and JS, no proprietary technology used. It all started out as an experiment to see how far one can go with existing technologies on the web :)

Posted to Sketch 3 should be 0.3, Jul 11, 2014 Sorry but I have jump into that. I've been one of the developers of Gravit, a new design tool that currently is in private Beta (http://www.gravit.io). We've been working on Gravit since 8 months with three developers and I'd say that we're already stable in beta, however as we don't want to sell anything buggy and take people's money for it, we're providing Gravit for free until we'll be catching up with more stability and features maybe in v2 or v2.5. So honestly I don't understand sometimes how BohemiaCoding is always defended that they're small and Adobe is big.. sorry about still they charge 80 bucks for each major release which still contains a lot of bugs.
Just my $0.02 and now I'll try to escape fast before people are gonna eat me ;)
