Gotcha. Food for thought; If I used only the dark mode to showcase creative to a client, at least in my experience at a global agency, it could confuse them. It seems like an unnecessary risk to introduce. I think it would require both colour schemes to be shown in order to understand how the creative co-exists with each colour. Seems like extra work, but could impact the work. But really, on the hush hush; no one really cares. So ultimately, it could be an unnecessary risk.
But is there actually an Instagram dark mode for iOS? In reality? I don't even know, i guess.
Agreed.
Why?
@Scott Graham — you're absolutely right...this is a safe forum for discussion of the bad and the good. Not sure what CW means? but this isn't an award site. As designers — regardless of discipline — understanding and analyzing problems and their solutions is key to evolving and maturing this community an craft. Cheers dood.
I get it, but it doesn't help. Personally, it just frustrates me even more. Once upon a time, this was a sacred craft. But like everything else—the advancement of technology and the evolution of culture has given anyone, from anywhere, the tools to expressive themselves. Your stance here is really just more shit in the shit pile. Start taking your responsibility more f'kin serious and know when and what to stand for.
I'm always amazed—and deeply saddened—at how unconstructive some of the communities criticism can be @Jonny Garrill, @Ken M. You're really doing us a solid guys :S. Julien as your primary device to make an income — good on you. The idea of fluidity between pages and elements entering the scene is great, but ya, it can be a little distracting. Maybe there's a better balance you can strike without losing the intent?
so much scrolling.
That contrast checker should work!

Clearly his first language isn't English and that shouldn't matter. Being able to code a website or typeset something perfectly shouldn't matter either. Design can come from many walks of life, it's about solving a problem and anyone can have a point of view when it comes to solutioning something.
