  • Posted to How do you organize your notes?, Feb 01, 2015

I do all my organization digitally using Evernote.

Being a student, I take pen/paper notes during my classes, then scan them or photograph them with my smartphone straight into Evernote. From there I can put them into a relevant notebook and add tags. All the writing is searchable and I can also search for notes I took on a specific date.

Ok, so if you have a good reason to upgrade the framework, why are you asking the question?

I'm not personally a Bootstrap user, but I have implemented it and other CSS frameworks on projects, so hear me out.

I don't really agree with upgrading frameworks since, unless you're using it with next to no customization, you're compromising the integrity of your own code built on top of it.

Put it this way: you wouldn't try to re-lay the foundations of a house or replace its nonproblematic internal wooden structure without demolishing the entire thing and beginning from scratch. It's just foolish to do so since the house would start falling apart and you would have to rebuild chunks, hence spending time fixing problems that you caused.

tl;dr if it ain't broke why fix it?

Why not try discussing with some actual teenagers, especially teen designers??

  • Posted to Ask DN: Thoughts on a Mac Mini as a Design/Dev Solution?, Aug 06, 2014

I've been a 2012 Mac mini user for the past year using Photoshop and Sketch, as well as audio programs like Logic Pro, Ableton Live and GarageBand, and I must say it has performed excellently. I have the base model with the i5 and 4GB RAM and I have no trouble getting things to work any better than an iMac could. Love that its absolutely silent too…

Great idea, but I'm from the UK and I've always seen the US region icon?

  • Posted to Outside of 'design' what creative hobby do you primarily engage in?, Jul 25, 2014

Well, for me, design is my creative outlet. My main gig is audio production. That's what I'm studying for at the moment and that's what I'm going for a career in, but I don't prefer it to the design stuff. It's just just more beneficial to have the best equipment and experience available for audio because I can learn design by myself.
