TBH… nowhere. Everyone is basically saying “nice work. check my work“ Even if the work has basic flaws and stuff. (Everyone loves typography and hardly anyone can get the basics right…) I try to get feedback from my work colleagues that are also designers and discuss progress and different angles.

I have a suggestion for the font anti-aliasing. It looks really bad on my iMac (27", non retina). The site looks very nice, just the very pixelish type makes it very unsexy.

You should use « -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; » instead of « -webkit-font-smoothing: subpixel-antialiased » (yes my mac is set to « use LCD font smoothing »)

also see this screenshot (top current, below « antialised »).

I use BitTorrent Sync – https://www.getsync.com. I really like that i can have an instance of Sync on my linux server as a fast place that is always online and one on my nas. I never reached the limits of the free version and there is an app for mobile devices.

i use a 13" MBPr because its easier to carry, not as heavy and still does most of the work fast and sufficient. I have the 256gb and 16gb ram version with Force Touch. But i never use Force Touch. It was interesting in the beginning to play with but since i design with my mouse or a tablet i hardly use the touchpad to design. I was on a 15" MBP (with 1680x1050 resolution) for 5 years and even tho it was nice to have a big screen, with the retina mBP you can adjust your resolution so it fits everything you need on the screen.

I use BTSync for my multiple Mac workflow. All the Fonts are there that i need, all the sourcefiles are there. And on my Server i have BTSync running too, so it is all accessible on a 1Gbit line. The Server makes daily backups, so it is no svn or git but i can access most files previous versions. So all I need is CC, BTSync and Suitcase Fusion and i am set.

I do like Fakt Pro from Ourtype.

The License is onetime for web, it has a lot of weights and glyphs. It also has a Slap version, so you can combine it.

I installed it and it was nice. The weird thing is tho that mails need way longer via push than in the native iOS mail app.

    Then I found this:

Seems like Microsoft relays data via their servers, which explains the slower pushing of mails but also might be not the best choice to have your data stored on a microsoft server.

Thanks for the information. Is there any plugin that makes more sense to use/is the best? I am tending towards PNGHat so i can compress pngs a little and keep file size at a usefull level.

The photoshop plugin from tinypng says: Worry-free color management Images are automatically converted to sRGB for maximum compatibility. Whether you use color profiles or not – it just works. I dont know if i want that cause all my files are untagged RGB or does this not modify the color space?

Type related conf: http://2014.kerning.it — not sure if i will make it but would love to hear Franceso Franchi talk. He is the art director for IL — http://www.flickr.com/photos/ffranchi/ — and there are a lot of other interesting speakers there.
