I’m really curious about this. I still see the heavy branding, but always thought it was a matter of time before they dialed it down a bit. For brands targeted at very broad and diverse user bases, like Dropbox is, it seems like time, user feedback and over-reliance on analytics eventually push design towards the same bland, safe choices. You can make some ripples every now and then, but the system will eventually self-correct (not always for the better, of course).
Hey Remus. You likely got a cached version of the old site the first time. The new one is English-only.
Thanks Dan, I really appreciate that!
Glad you liked it, and thanks for the heads-up! I had forgotten to set the lang attribute, so the browser could be picking some of those Swedish names as Norwegian. Hopefully fixed now.
None off the top of my head, but there's a lot of good stuff in their showcase (some of them are open source too, so you can have a look at the inner workings)
Thanks! Middleman is great, and I still use it for most of the static sites I do, but I figured this would be a good chance to learn something new. I had heard great things about Gatsby and wanted to know what the fuss was all about. Having spent some time with it, I think Alec pretty much nailed it. It makes it hard to put together a non-performant site and it leverages all of the good stuff React has to offer. This breaks it down nicely.
Ah, you're too kind! Thanks man, really appreciated.
Thanks, man! Really flattered my work's inspired you to do something. Keep us posted!
Sadly, it doesn't let me scroll using a mousewheel (touchpad works fine). Looks great, though — great job!
