Do you still want to contribute design work? A creative director spends a lot of time in meetings, communicating with other stakeholders, providing mentorship, and of course, provides creative vision/direction to their team and empowers them to contribute their best work.

First decide if you’re ready to step away from being in the weeds of your craft and step toward being a leader that thinks at higher levels. This can be a difficult transition for us designers to make.

You can imagine the conversations among the XD product team:

“Forget table stakes features. We need to INNOVATE.”

“What will look cooler on the website: auto-animate, or guides?”

“They can just use Sketch for stupid polygons. I want more prototyping features in there. Prototyping is so hot right now.”

Preach! One of the more masturbatory elements of web design.

My first thought is “pinwheel”. Their old logo was one of my favorites.

I just registered and went through your new user flow. Here is my experience:

    1. After logging in with my Google account I was being asked to pay for a membership. At this point I havent even seen a single mockup, only text explaining the features and a credit card form. Nope. Skip.

    2. After dismissing that overlay, I proceed to a sparse screen asking me to upload screenshots. I still have no idea what I'm working toward creating. I oblige and upload a sample iPhone X screenshot.

    3. Im then shown a screen with my uploaded screen presented in two different iPhone X frames that both look like something I could throw together in Photoshop in about 1 minute. Nope. Close and never come back.

That's about right. Love that you called out the "templates/models" point. Many times a UI fix affects a component that is used system-wide, so it's super important that communicate that.
