How would you use the wireframe in the creative process? I mean, if you are presenting to a client would you use a mixture of wireframes and other things?

  • Posted to Does UX Design Require Coding When Creating a Prototype?, Aug 17, 2017

No, not at all. There are so many tools out there that allow you to create prototypes quickly that the need for writing code is gone. If you are able to write code, then that's great too but you'll prob end up being asked to do lots of tasks which are rather far from the UX field.

Hah, I am not so sure. Analytics neither lie nor tell the truth, they can only be interpreted.

No, is it really. It was a great blog and is still being shared a lot. I am sure that I read new material in the last few days.

  • Posted to Content or design? What comes first and why designers should help create content for websites, Aug 16, 2017

I am not trying to be smart but I am wondering about the purpose of a website. If there is no content then there is no website. A badly designed website with great content is still a badly designed website with great content. I reckon the latter is going to get more visitors. You need to combine the two though. Good content is essential, no amount of design will make up for bad or missing content but good content on a well designed, user friendly website. That is what I would like to see.

Yesterday, we had a post arguing that we ought to move on from wireframes. Today, we have one explaining how to make them better. Glad to see that wireframes are fighting back.

  • Posted to Would you use a service focused on app prototyping?, Aug 15, 2017

Depends what you are trying to achieve. Prototyping tools for mobile or web apps can be a very good way for some product teams to move through the design phase. They also reduce the need for coding during the design phase which is another advantage. The other main advantage is that the easy to use app prototyping tools make it easy for startups to design and focus their ideas if they don't have a designer as part of the original team.

  • Posted to ASK DN: How do you manage your passwords - manually or with a service?, Mar 28, 2016

i have a method for generating new passwords which is based on the site itself and the time of my registration on the site. Once I know when I first registered I can work out what password I used on the initial sign in. I then keep a spreadsheet with each new sign just in case I accidentally delete any of the emails. So far so good.
