Looking good man!
I'd say you may consider swapping the Facebook case study with one that has work you're able to show. The quote was great and Facebook is an awesome name, but you're a student with work samples and I def clicked on it and then assumed you didn't have anything to show. When I'm going through portfolios it's usually a dozen at a time, so I'm pretty rapid fire till I get to work samples.
Listen to this man, Kevin is an all star and Litmus is a godsend!
Thanks Matt! We make tons of emails here at ZURB and it makes our own lives much much easier. Checkout the docs and you should be up and running in no time. If you're still having trouble we also have a course that your new employer may be interested in buying. Don't want to spam the thread, but feel free to hit me up and i'll send you the link if you're interested.
Sweet man! Stop by ZURB sometime for lunch and hang, we're in Campbell.
Ha what Tim said!
Thats the goal and we're pretty excited to make it happen. Abstraction is always a risk, but the templiting language will allow you to mix our tags with tables, so if the abstraction breaks down you can always go back to the real thing.
Thanks for the read!
Yeah, we'd assume that too ha! Its not that these newer browsers are worse than the old, but that over the years the email community has learned a lot of tricks to combat the older browsers.
The main issue with most of these is there is no standard in email clients. Older outlook uses words rendering engine and many don't support media-queries . This just leads to tons of hack to fix one thing, which breaks another. The illustration of a boat with tons of holes needing to be plugged really fits what it's like to code and HTML email.
As far as the food chain is concerned there are a lot of great people trying to solve this problem and even tech crunch has a great article on it, so we really hope we can someday start to build emails with a little more sanity. http://techcrunch.com/2015/11/10/gmail-we-need-to-talk/
Thanks for posting, Luke! If anyone wants to chat about Foundation for Emails Tim and I would love to answer here or on the post :)
This feels more like a styleguide or pattern library for internal use. Awesome job from their team and i hope we continue to see more of these.
