    Hey DN!

We posted on DN about a month ago and based on some feedback we pushed a bunch of updates:

    • It’s now completely free :)
    • Multi-calendar support
    • Realtime slot scanning availability to avoid any overlaps
    • You can now set custom titles and locations for each meeting
    • The dragging and dropping gestures has been significantly improved to be much smoother

You can try a demo here without signing up or login in: https://buttercal.com/demo

    Hey DN!

I was huge fan of the Sunrise Calendar Meet function. I loved it and used it for everything. I was kinda bummed out when they finally closed shop.

When the finally pulled it down, I was thinking a good replacement would come about at some point. I’ve tried a bunch of stuff. Other solutions either felt to clunky or just didn’t feel right.

So I kinda put Buttercal together as a weekend hack, so I could have something for myself, to make scheduling meeting super easy, something that feels like i’m still using Sunrise.

So far, I love it! :)

It’s pretty basic right now. If more people find it useful, I plan on adding some other simple things to make the experience even better.

    Hey Fabio!

This actually uses domainr for searching the final domain names.

But before that, it finds similar words. For example, if you put something like "beer" it would yeild "brewage" or "ferment"

For some reason that part is broken as of about 30 minutes ago. I'm looking into it now.

    Edit: It's fixed now!

    Sorry about that!

Thanks man! I temporarily removed the summarizer from the homepage for now. The precision rate is not so great. And i'm having a tough time with the parsing. I'm using Readability, which isn't getting the job done.

It has a lot of work to be done. I'm considering building my own parser and adding an option for users to rate each summary as either relevant or not relevant so I can feed the data into a machine learning algorithm that can help fine-tune the whole thing.

    Hey DN!

I put this thing together to serve as a spot where you can find new things to learn everyday.

It's about half automated and half manually curated.

Would love to here any feedback/suggestions!

I think they are based on Native American tribes. One of the map types is called The Cheyenne - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheyenne
