Had the same issue with a different theme, took me 6 months to realise it wasn't a bug.
Being able to layer things by using multiple lines would be really cool!
I really like how Bootstrap handles grids and responsive layout for small- to medium-sized websites. I used Bootstrap's sass port to create my own tiny version, containing only the grid (but with 24 columns) and some responsive utilities (including an extra breakpoint).
In case you weren't familiar with the shortcut, this works in most web browsers too!

Over the past two year nothing has beaten Flatland for me!
I've mapped zoom in and zoom out to cmd+shift+a and command+shift+e (replace a by q if you're on a qwerty). After a few minutes I already got used to it and wouldn't want it any different.
I use this trick to create fixed-ratio elements so they're always a perfect fit for their background-image.
