Currently we're just using plain Git, but we're looking into supporting git-lfs in a future version.
Hey, we'er working on adding collaboration features to Folio for Mac, here's why we think it's better than syncing services or shared drives.
It's only a viewer now, but if you want you can add a remote and push from the command line (or any other client)
All files are stored locally so if you want to encrypt you can use File Vault on your Mac.
Send us a mail at email@example.com and we'll help you out

There is no way to do it just from the Folio app, but if you're comfortable with the command line (or another Git client) you could do it.
We did some preliminary testing and it seems to work fine (you'll get everybody's commit messages in the app).

It's all on your local machine right now, but I like how your thinking :)
