In testing, the type thickens when rendered on the browser without modifications. The proportions was for the metric. The tall x-height and the slightly open counters make for the readability. Sorry for the confusion in my description, Ruban!

Most of the fonts I am giving away are the result of typeface design studies and are not fully OpenType featured fonts. I hope that these free and open source fonts can help other designers who can't afford to buy fonts make a difference in their work.

Hey Chris those littles notches are not for display purposes and are there to decrease type colour/darkness on specific parts of the geometry at certain sizes. All of the text on that page is Open Sauce Sans. Inter typeface is indeed a good one and I would also recommend that.
