Glad you started this thread! Fellow designer/cellist here, so this hits home. I'm really into instrumental hip hop, baile funk, classical and jazz sampling, and what local hip hop sounds like around the world. This year I gather songs across a 3 month season into a playlist as a kind of musical blog in a sense.
Here's the first; jan-march 2016: Listen to 16:I by Chase Chenevert #np on #SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/chasechenevert/sets/16-q1
Here's the second; april-ongoing: Listen to 16:II by Chase Chenevert #np on #SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/chasechenevert/sets/16-ii
Add me on SoundCloud, I love sharing sounds.
I'm very curious to see how this will be marketed and I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this at I/O. This feels similar to Google+, Google Keep, Google Save, and Hangouts... I wonder how they will differentiate this as a tool--maybe they wont?
I see this on my team a lot as well. The problem with setting a habit like this, especially if you're leading a department, is that it ultimately creates more work for the rest of the team. It creates a pile of work for other colleagues to comb through the next day, and so on. It also inflates the notion of capacity or bandwidth to unrealistic proportions and can lead to precedents and expectations outside the limits of the team.
I won't be attending the conferences, but I live in downtown Austin (recently moved here). Would love to find out about design happenings
This could be valuable to the design community; we are here to get insight, inspiration, and information from each other. Your suggestion reminds me a little of AIG's Cased competition: http://www.aiga.org/cased-2015-winners-competition/
Are there any other spaces where people are sharing more in-depth about process and context?
