I'm not sure if it passes either the character test or the professional test, but I think does.

Disclosure: I work on DocRaptor sometimes, and am responsible for some of the graphics. I am not responsible for the logo/character, though.

I agree that users aren't stupid, and most people can tell what it's supposed to mean. That doesn't make it any less lazy or dishonest. Some of the examples on the blog aren't that bad ( in particular) and provide appropriate context with explicit labeling.

I find it especially egregious when there's a group of logos purported to be about press coverage that don't link to the coverage.

We don't currently support the "staging" site in the same way. It's easy enough to have multiple sites with similar content. Another feature that's currently in development and not listed anywhere is automatic compilation of haml/sass/markdown, etc.

If you're really excited about this concept, you can do it right now with, no waiting until October!

    Full disclosure: I run :)

This is very cool, but the tone of the title is a little misleading. Lockitron v1 was this exact thing, if I'm not mistaken. And that was released in 2009. So, the evolution of the key is here, just not as widely distributed. I actually think the new lockitron (which is an aftermarket add-on to just about any deadbolt) is poised to be more successful given it's much much easier for renters (a group that's getting larger every year in the US) to use.

There's also tools like and that are focused on blogging.
