I used to hate autosave until I found this little guy in "General" under "System Preferences":

Ask to keep changes when saving documents

When this is checked, you don't have to worry about making unnecessary changes to a document. Instead, whenever you close out, you get the awesome message:

    Revert Changes

At this point, autosave does exactly what I need. I can revert changes if desired, but will still get autosaving if that's not my intent from the get-go. Try it out—you'll like it.

    Wholeheartedly agree.

For example, Google Maps for iOS made the mistake of assuming users would eventually intuit their gesture-only interactions (swipe left/right through POIs, swipe left/right through potential routes).

Over the past few months, tooltips have been appearing in the app to demonstrate how to perform some of their gestures. Pretty obvious that they weren't working out for the casual user.

Vesper has some amazing interactions around tagging.

Looks amazing—I wonder what's behind the decision to film in 4:3 rather than 16:9 though.
