I think you made the right choice but 3 thoughts I wanted to add:

    1) They hired you because they like you and your thinking but that does not mean they trust you yet. That will take time.

    2) You are comfortable with your old method of working; this is new to you. That does not mean it's bad it's just different. Commit yourself to it and then once you understand it then you can break it down and judge it to see if it works for you.

    3) In any situation like this down the line, I think it's best for you to stand up and have the hard discussion with your leaders and tell them how you are feeling and try to resolve it before just bailing. You're not helping them or yourself by being one foot out the door; you're not building resolve.

Would have to agree -- everyone should give a mech keyboard a try. Get to type on and also great for gaming. For those interested in buying one here are two great sites:

To buy and learn: https://www.massdrop.com/mechanical-keyboards (sign up required)

    To learn: https://geekhack.org/

It may be forced by an app, but I doubt it. That is controlled by the OS which is also an option in the setting. The status bar color, along with the navBar, are themes for the OS.

A Principle Designer does as the title is called:

prin·ci·ple noun 1. a fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior or for a chain of reasoning.

They create reasoning behind design systems. Most companies don't have them nor should they have them but a good example is google; They hired Principle designers when they were working on material design. They were the highest level position on those teams and were responsible for the logic of the system by creating rules and standards that can be applies to every element. Apple and Microsoft have similar positions for their design languages.
