I personally doubt how confusing it can be.
I'm not sure I understand your assertion here. Are you doubting that other individuals couldn't possibly find it confusing? Or are you saying that you don't think it's confusing?
For the record, I personally think the horizontal scroll is not beneficial to the experience and can cause confusion.
Couldn't disagree more with this logic/premise. Why should one limit themselves? I believe @Allan said it best https://twitter.com/allan/status/535160640462422016

I disagree with the criticisms regarding scroll-jacking and smooth-talking cats. I'm pretty sure these guys know what quality UX is and are simply having fun. Agency sites are afforded this privilege.
Potential clients visit agency sites often with the expectation of eye-candy (and hearing some McConaughey, of course). These visitors can dig deeper into their actual work by looking at case studies and live projects if they are considering to work with them.
I think they killed it! Kudos hellomonday...Alright alright!
tweaked the animation speeds, curious what you think. thanks for the input tristam!
you're right mailto isn't ideal, i switched it to a simply twitter reply.
thanks for the input josh!
thanks alex! this seems to be a common sentiment. much appreciated.
appreciate the feeback Cole! very valuable
I genuinely think his statements are coming from a constructive place, as opposed to a confrontational one. I think he's looking to simply encourage "designers" to gain more control over their work by gaining an understanding of the medium on which they are applied. The tools are irrelevant.
Great discussion going on here...
