+1 for customization options (if you're taking opinions at this early stage). A couple months ago I decided to start a travelog and I wanted to focus on my writing and telling stories about my travels, but I ended up wasting so much time just trying to find a simple blogging platform that I can host on my own domain and gives me all the customization options I need. I didn't find anything I liked so I decided to build my own custom pages in the end.

I'd love to test your platform when it's ready. Just please let me customize the HTML & CSS...

Okay, but I was talking about XD and Figma, not Sketch. I agree with you that Sketch has become too big.

Figma is the best out there at the moment, in my opinion.

I personally don't understand how anyone can think this when XD is so far behind. XD doesn't even have a crop tool. I can't copy and paste layer styles. These are the basics of a design app, in my opinion. Just a few months ago you couldn't even create a polygon. Adobe is just too big and too slow.

Figma is miles ahead of everyone. It has nearly as many features as Sketch but is so much faster and lightweight, plus you can use it on any platform and sharing is a breeze. Wish I could convince my company to switch.

    Hi Colin,

Thanks for your awesome reply. I'm going to check out a few of those links, especially the newsletters! :)

Honestly, the more I research into this stuff, the more I am realizing how much of it is happening in Berlin or London. So it's looking extremely likely that I'll have to leave France and move to Berlin. I plan on applying to some positions there as well as in the UK. Maybe I'll see you around eventually, haha.

I love the post you wrote on Medium! Lots of helpful information in there. I'm glad there's another human out there who felt the same way I do about all this! Working in an agency right now, I feel like I'm surrounded by people who are just lying to themselves about how "cool" and "impactful" their work is. I don't understand it!

    Cheers, Kyle

Berlin has been a target city for me for years (I nearly moved there a few years ago, actually), I'll look into the health tech startups there.

Damn, I'd kill to come and work on improving the NHS/healthcare in the UK.

Agreed, I was blown away by the response. I gave up refreshing the page yesterday after a few hours, then came into work this morning to find all these replies. Incredible!

Looks great! Unfortunately San Diego is a bit far for me, I'm really looking to stay in Europe :)
