If you drag an object onto an artboard, Sketch will unselect the item and you wont be able to drag it a second time unless you first click away from the artboard.
Related: If you drag multiple objects onto an artboard, Sketch will unselect the top-most item in your selection so if you move the objects again, Sketch will leave behind that object.

If you're interested in a podcast, this is great. It's a sprint that was run by the guy who brought the sprint methodology to Google. They collaborated with a startup and the startup founder recorded the process in their podcast.
