Is it just me, or does this feel more consistent and put-together than the actual dropbox.design site?

It's not trying to do too many things. And it doesn't jank my browser.

    This is really, really beautiful.

Clean type, clear rhythm, simple layout, and strong content. Plus, the scrolling feels silky-smooth. Can't beat that.

    Huge kudos to the designer.

Not a bad mea culpa, but it's still surprising that Scout wasn't vetted more prior to release.

The feature was superficially polished, but didn't have the substance to back it up. Seems almost like a metaphor for something...

    Actual hats.

    Every designer should have:

    • A bowler hat for user research
    • A top hat for writing up case studies
    • A propeller beanie for client presentations
    • A fedora (Indiana Jones-style, of course) for wrangling pixels
    • A backwards-worn baseball cap for testing

Other hats may be necessary on an as-needed basis, but these are the core hats.

You should give some reasoning why not! If I weren't a designer and I stumbled across this, I'd be left wondering why it remotely matters.

I'd also want to avoid perpetuating the sense that design is about preferences, or a few (mostly indecipherable) rules. There are lots of great reasons to use something besides Papyrus, but unless someone knows them, they're just engaging in Cargo Cult design.
