But if you're looking at the greater picture doesn't it also have to do a lot with our current economic system where success is defined with monetary gains over positive human impact created or social progress?

I really like this. I wish there was a site like this that features certain designers we're looking up to

Totally agree – if we're solely designing for the user I don't think we should limit ourselves to a certain set of technologies. But sometimes we also got to keep business, existing infrastructure etc... in mind.

Just noticed, "contraints" might be also not quite the right wording in this case. While React gives you a way for doing things, possibilities for building solutions are close to endless.

I disagree. We're usually designing for a goal or a certain outcome. If the goal is to put together a product with React and making use of it's benefits, it makes sense to keep the strengths & constraints of the system you're building with in mind and design accordingly.

Love Hashtags Unplugged. It brings social media — which at times feels to be superficial at first sight — to a whole other level.

I haven't been thinking too much about including interactivity into storytelling so far but this opens up a whole new set of possibilities. Isn't it what adventure games are all about?

Great! I've been aware of some of the NY Times' pieces but didn't expect there to be so many

  • Posted to Show DN: Build fast static sites with React & CSS Modules, in reply to Moe Amaya , Aug 25, 2016

Hey guys, there are already some great alternatives like Gatsby out there. But I was looking for something that's easier to customize and that makes use of the latest tools.

I'm using it with Storebook. Right now the whole site is based on static files which make it incredible fast while saving resources at the same time. As soon as there's going to be more dynamic data I can still easily hook it up to a node backend.
