You can actually achieve the promised land of stateful design with Protopie. Using their global/local variables and listeners. The introduction of components just made it 10000x more powerful.

I use Principle when I want to do a quick screen to screen and I use ProtoPie when I want to blow people away.

To everyone I talk to, Basecamp is known as the cool little app that you eventually grow up and graduate from. I think this problem is more brand perception than depth of features. It gives you that indie band niche vibe.

The brand could use a little more polish. And with their whole purposeful/anti growth thinking this was about as far as they were probably willing to push.

Also, Monday.com is trying to eat their lunch. Could be another explanation for this 'brand' refresh and the keyword stuffing going on inside of the content.

I converted my entire org to Figma too. We were one of their first enterprise tier customers. We came over from Sketch + Invision + Abstract. My team is super productive in Figma and I love that I have one place to look for our design system versioning, mocks, prototypes, comments from PMs and devs and stakeholders. Design reviews have become a breeze. Love it for the most part!

But I kept my Sketch license active for my own individual use. And fall back to it whenever I need to get my thoughts quickly onto a page.

Figma is great for what it is but Sketch is still the best standalone design tool IMO. I know that's becoming a less popular opinion. My team constantly reminds me of that. But I'm ok with that.

My biggest beef with Figma is that the desktop client doesn't feel native at all. It feels like the browser app wrapped inside of a container. So I guess native is subjective.
