I think my favorite part was the explanation of what a nit was.

Yep, it exists. You can enable it in the Gmail web app via: click gear dropdown towards top right > Settings > General tab > Show "Send & Archive" button in reply.

Regardless of all the cases of bosses getting pissed, losing job opportunities, etc., I think the way Google went wrong with this one was replacing a button that a fair number of users commonly used, probably via muscle memory (and accessible by tabbing twice and hitting enter without really thinking about it):

    Gmail Button

Kinda crappy to have that sort of functionality swapped out with something that adds a GIF to all of your outgoing replies.

Hopefully this is something people could laugh off, but it was still poorly executed from the get-go, IMO.

That whole design trend needs to end. :(

Isn't WhatsApp really popular outside of the US and in countries where smartphones haven't really taken hold? I wouldn't be surprised if that Nokia represents a significant chunk of their user base. (Apart from that--agree on the visual refresh for their homepage.)

Personally, I've found it does the opposite to me. I realize how long an article is by how long the "progress" bar is taking to fill up and bounce right out because I'm not in the mood for a long article at that particular moment.

Hmm, did you by chance copy/paste the wrong link there? :)

I think the little Android carrying over the marshmallow to add to the pile is the best part.

I've heard of the terminals before--but have never actually seen them. Are they actually run on Bloomberg hardware? I see "Bloomberg" labels on the monitor and computer to the right. I always assumed that it was just software you could run on any of your own computers.
