It might be long (~50 minutes) but I highly recommend finding some time to watch this if you're interested in animation in interface design. It's a great talk.

The irony always makes me laugh. Adding totally unnecessary sounds and letters to the end of the word is definitely not minimal, haha.

Yeah, and they seem to make the purpose fairly obvious all throughout the docs. Not sure how people are being confused other than skimming very quickly.

I do like how they've included patterns at the end, e.g the blank slate. Adding basic UX like that into your style guide seems very useful. I might look into something like that for my team.

Have you tried contacting any design agencies or startups to see if they have a need for part-time help?

My last part-time gig was landed by e-mailing a bunch of local startups who looked like they could use some design help.

The side effect of this is even if someone doesn't have a current need, you'll get on their radar and hopefully meet some new people.

I don't really understand this. He was just looking for a little logo for his video game clan? Why would you even try pitching him a proper logo?

Just because I make user interfaces doesn't mean I yell at every small business who needs a simple page up... I tell them about WordPress instead.
