I'll be curious to see if enough people can justify a monthly subscription to a Gmail wrapper. Don't get me wrong, the apps look great and I understand it probably took a lot of work (I won't actually try them out because you are asking for my card details), but from the standpoint of a user evaluating the value they are getting for a recurring payment, it's just a pretty Gmail wrapper that they loose the minute they cancel.
If the main differentiator of your apps is superior performance compared to the dozens of Electron / web wrapper apps that do the same thing for free or for a very reasonable one off fee, I think you should reconsider asking people to commit and hand over their payment details before they can even try the apps.
Yeah subscription fatigue is hitting pretty hard.
Really impressed how Boxy keeps on trucking even when Google decides to end Inbox or make other unexpected changes to the Google Suite. Keep up the awesome work!
Big fan of the Boxy collection of apps — and this is a long awaited upgrade!
What's the benefit to using this over something like Fluid, besides the cleaner title bar?
I've been looking for something like this, I found my perfect workflow with Gmail so I abandoned the traditional dedicated IMAP app and have resorted to flicking between tabs and browser-based desktop notifications.
I'll certainly be giving this a whirl... it will need to impress to get £30/year out of me, but I do think if it's as good as it looks, I will get a lot of value out of it, which I guess would justify the price.
£15 (or max £20) would have been the sweet spot.
Congratulations on the launch! Looks lovely :)
