First of all, I love Figma and I love the idea of being able to convert to Sketch. I’ve been playing with the API as well.
The problem with this “competition” is this is pure speculative work. Sometimes our industry should be fighting against. Although the intentions are noble this is no better than a logo competition.
If you think this idea is worth $15K why not pay someone $15K to develop this?
(Personally I think it’s worth much more than that number)
This was the first thing that came to my mind, as well. Spec work isn't cool...
It's not an idea to me it's a feature
Especially weird from a company whose users are notoriously against spec work competitions.
Hire someone to do the job instead of asking a bunch of people to do it for free in the hopes of winning a prize.
OMG! Does that mean Sketch users will obtain the ability to use design systems made in Figma environment?
I think that's the general idea.... which makes sense I suppose..i know I've been using a lot of Sketch UI kits imported into Figma.... so i suppose the reverse would be valuable as well...
Hey all, for anyone still looking for a solution to this, we've just released a new Figma plugin that exports .sketch files from your designs. You can try it out now by installing the Convertify plugin from the Figma plugin directory. Hope it helps!
We need this ASAP. In reality you work with clients that use Sketch, or collaborate with a team that use Sketch and won't change that. To be able to do this we need this option badly. This shouldn't be a challenge, this should be a must for future releases. Plus a PDF export that actually works (the chrome plugin solution is pretty bad).
