The app I didn't know I needed until now...
Would love for Android :-)
I’m working on this as we speak! The app is built with React Native so hopefully it won’t be too far off
Give me a shout once you have something you need testing :-)
I love it! I sketched a similar concept for a daily ui challenge... so cool to see your fully realized project. Great work.
Lovely design - please let us know when the Android version is ready!
This is neat. Well done :)
Really nice app. Just downloaded it and I'm curious to try it
Thanks! And if you have any feedback on how to improve it please let me know. I’m always looking for ways to make it more useful
I was JUST talking about a multiple synced timer app like this the other day while making pasta, vegetables, and toasting garlic bread, I always am using multiple devices to try to time it so nothing is cold by time it's time to eat. AWESOME work! I would love to see some Siri shortcuts support for iOS 12, could have a fully hands free app!
EDIT: I just bought it.
Thanks Darran! This is exactly the reason I built this. I constantly found that I’d have one or two ingredients that would either be sitting around getting cold or that I’d be over cooking while the rest completed. Since I’ve been trialling the app myself over the past 8 months I’ve found it makes a huge difference just getting a little reminder, it’s not perfect by any means but it’s a lot better than mentally keeping track.
Great idea about the Siri shortcuts, hopefully React Native has support for them soon.
Very slick, my only (minor) question is this: Is it really needed to use FB sign in to save meals? Why not offer sign in to those who need device sync and offline saving for those who don't? It's an un-needed complication. Heck. Think about iCloud data sync, it does everything you are looking for AND you don't have to run an API!
Yeah I definitely agree with you, my main reason going with Facebook and remote storage is that the app is built with React Native and Expo, which offers FB login and firebase integration of the box. It meant I didn’t have to worry about building my own login flows(including password/username recovery) and if I need to update or recover user data I could do it from my end via Firebase. Perhaps cleaning up this flow and making use of iCloud is something I should look into though.
Is there a reason the app wants my facebook friends list by default?
TBH it's a default configuration that comes with React Native. I should really disable it. Don't worry, nothing sinister going I assure you.
That's cool! How did you make it?
