I really love this font. It's extremely breathable and non-fatiguing while still looking fantastic.
Really? It looks pretty dense and actually kinda harsh to read as body copy at 13px
A prototypical neo-grotesk for good screen legibility in small sizes; I beg to differ, strongly.
Here is an article about a font family I designed that actually shows what features are intended to help legibility in screen interfaces, and why. That design is based on having researched scientific papers, user studies and testing in actual interfaces for over a year. It so happens I wrote my Master’s thesis on this particular subject.
In my opinion Inter UI shines through its marketing, the acclaim of its designer and the generic neo-grotesk genre’s convincing familiarity, not its UI legibility.
Looks like a San Francisco clone
pretty much. on the Lab page you can compare it to San Francisco. there are slight differences, but it's indistinguishable to the naked eye.
The FAQ of that font is missing some color on how the name came to be and with what attitude it comes…

I believe the reason why it came up again was this: https://twitter.com/rsms/status/1034078094951251968
