Undesigned.io - Unlimited Design Services

5 days ago from , UX Designer

Hi guys! I just recently launched a service called Undesigned where we offer design services to startups, agencies, and freelancers, for a low fixed monthly cost.

Would love to get your feedback! www.undesigned.io

To be quite frank, I find it hard to trust a "Design Service" company whose own website is totally unresponsive...

Evidently their own site is on the "basic" plan according to the pricing page. You have to upgrade to premium for mobile design.

We wanted to launch the service as quickly as possible and as a result, we didn't implement our mobile design.

How is that even a thing in 2018? Media queries aren’t rocket science and shouldn’t add much time to the build. Adding them after the fact, well, that’ll cost you some unneeded time.

This baffled me as well. Responsiveness on a site like this would have taken me about a 8 hours worth of work maximum.

And agreed working backwards to mobile is a much more lengthy process in my opinion. Should have got built mobile-first.

Yeah I would even cut down that 8 hours drastically if they know what they’re doing. Since they were trying to launch “fast”, they could have just used bootstrap, some other framework, or even a tool like webflow so the responsiveness would have been a piece of cake. Now they just gave themselves more work to do.

I strongly think that the site is built directly from Sketch ( Anima launchpad or something like that.)

I'm not sure what the rush is, as a company offering design services your own design should be top notch. Like Mike Stevenson said, delaying even one day to make the site responsive would have made a far better impression on people.

Looking at the code, It seems created by a bot. No human touch yet :)

This is bad. Unlimited design services like this just end up harming the design industry.

I'm rolling my eyes at the pricing. It's unsustainable and the bullet point on the Scale plan "faster turn around" is crazy to me.

    This looks undesigned.

A landing page this simple and unresponsive isn't going to convince too many people to immediately drop $1300.

The problem with commoditized UX design services specifically is that people might be duped into believing fundamental business problems can be solved with very little commitment.

You're right. There's too much to sort out in the design process to make it this easy for businesses. Otherwise it would have already taken over the industry.

Indeed, that's the way I feel too. The reason we don't see dozens of these kinds of services is because the economics don't work out.

Why have you included 3 company logos in your header which have never said a word about you on any of their sites?

I couldn't find any projects that you've done. I am not sure if anyone will pay by just trusting a site on the internet with nothing to show as their asset/projects.

Basic design services will unfortunately be commoditized sooner rather than later.

That said I believe that's a huge boost to most designers to get much more deeply involved in product and business discussions!

I'm going to test out a few "unlimited design services" soon and very curious what the results are: https://twitter.com/moeamaya/status/1017515552640679936

Are you going to share your thoughts on those services later? I'd love to see that. I have a mixed feeling (interested/scared) about these new 'unlimited design services'. I think these subscription model services + tools like Canva can take a majority of the works from small design studios someday.

I think they are just quickly trying to gauge if this is the right idea..

You should sign up to be one of their designers - think of the big $$$ you'll be making.

With the logos of FastCompany, TechCrunch and VentureBeat... have they used this new service?

    Or written about it?

You need to take a look at that TechCrunch svg, looks like some of the points got rounded in Sketch or something and the 'u' looks wonky.

This was obvious one day would happen, thanks to Dribble, Behance, UI assets bundles and the unification of all into one single UI design style...

you might want to rethink this. i don't think many will be willing to spend several hundreds of dollars up front for design services without setting any expectation of quality or a detailed process.
