Sketch artboard actual size

7 months ago from , UX/UI Designer

Hi, I am designing on a 1440x900 Macbook Pro, and I set my artboard to be 1440x900. But when I view in actual size or export, it is actually bigger than 1440x900. Why is that? How can I fix it? Thx

make sure you're not exporting at 2X. double check your export settings in the properties panel.

Yes, I found the problem. I upload to zeplin and the there is the setting 1X and 2X (I was originally setting it to 2X)

Do you have an example document we can check? There’s a few reasons it could be happening.

Perhaps you're not taking into account Mac's Top bar and all toolbars and it doesn't fit your screen size (usable area)?

It's hard to admit but I've made this mistake when designing for 1280x720 screen size where the actual height was 620px due to all static Mac/Chrome UI elements.

What resolution does preview.app say it is? It might be 2x so that it's retina.
