This is super! Quick question, what plugins did you end up using for this?
Thanks, Aaron! I'll eventually get around to making the repo open, but in the meantime here's my package.json: https://gist.github.com/emmnunes/c53c3b7d8ab97b02eaca90247b5e9ed9
If you have questions about any specific dependency, feel free to ask :)
Lovely website. Simple, appealing layout and well written, thoughtful case studies. Great job
Thanks Dan, I really appreciate that!
Really nice site. Cool font too. For some reason Chrome is trying to translate it from norwegian, even though its in english?
Glad you liked it, and thanks for the heads-up! I had forgotten to set the lang attribute, so the browser could be picking some of those Swedish names as Norwegian. Hopefully fixed now.
Your Matcher case study is awesome and giving me inspiration for a side project I'm currently working on. Great portfolio!
Thanks, man! Really flattered my work's inspired you to do something. Keep us posted!
One of my favorite portfolios this year. Easy to use and great case study layout.
Ah, you're too kind! Thanks man, really appreciated.
Looks great! The work is bold and varied.
Curious why you chose Gatsby for the portfolio? I currently use Middleman but this intrigues me.
can't speak for OP, but i used it for mine because it's flexible as hell, really performant, has a really great development experience, and obviously let's you take full advantage of React and the ecosystem (more importantly, it makes it easy to do so).
Looks like it! I'm going to dig deeper...
Will be definitely worth your time!
Thanks! Middleman is great, and I still use it for most of the static sites I do, but I figured this would be a good chance to learn something new. I had heard great things about Gatsby and wanted to know what the fuss was all about. Having spent some time with it, I think Alec pretty much nailed it. It makes it hard to put together a non-performant site and it leverages all of the good stuff React has to offer. This breaks it down nicely.
I think you've convinced me to try Gatsby! Are there any Gatsby-based sites you saw that inspired you?
