Where do you find UX/UI freelancers?

over 1 year ago from , Interactive Designer

I’m a design lead at small (but getting bigger) design studio. There are a number of projects that are soon to go into production, and I want to expand my contacts to find appropriate freelancers or contractors (UI designers, primarily) that could either work remotely or in-house. Mostly, I'm trying to know of some options before all the work actually starts.

Beyond asking people that I already know or creating a job posting, where do you look to find talented folks?

Whenever I'm on the lookout for a freelancer to work with, I almost always go through my network so I can find someone that vets for the person.

That said, I'd be happy to talk to you :)

Agreed, although expanding the network beyond that method is what I'm wondering about. To be more specific though, I'm looking for people that are between junior to mid-level, and more UI heavy for touch interfaces.

I like your website, lots of good reading :)

In that case, I'd look at Behance and Dribbble and reach out to a few people there. You can get a pretty good idea of their UI skills as well as their experience level.

        ps. Thanks! :)
