I like Repick design and concept itself, but the range of aesthetic curated here is quite one-note.
Everything looks like it's designed to be designy, not necessarily to be a great product. Products that are designed to be like Dieter Rams except they started with the aesthetic and not the function.
Don't get me wrong, they all are quite pleasant to look at, but I fear buying a number of these would turn my house into the background rooms of portrait photos for design magazine profiles.
Tl;DR: The designs are too damned hip.
Thanks for the feedback! and you're definitely right. this is why we now let our users apply to become curators to get a more mixed range of products. Some may focus on quality while others do more visually appealing products. We hope most of our visitors will find something great and trust our curators in what they do best in the long run. We are still experimenting and we hope to add more social features and only show you what you like most in the future
It's nice, but the products aren't loading very quickly. Also, wish I could sign up without going through Facebook or Twitter.
We will look into this :) Thanks for the feedback!
