I've been getting deeper into visual design and am starting to build a personal collection of fonts. Any thoughts on how to load, categorize and manage all of them on a Mac? Ideally, I could keep a small set of fonts loaded so I don't have a giant list to scroll through.
If you're on OS X, plain old system Font Book works great - just create your own collections with the little + sign on the bottom left.
I don't use Fontcase. It's probably the most unreliable app I've ever experienced.
I start by having folders on Dropbox that I find relevant. Eg. Playful fonts, Magazine fonts, Sans. Then i import them into font explore and tag/folder them in the same way. It took me a few days to get them organised but it was well worth the effort.
++ 1 for Fontcase
Same. Fontcase is great, and syncs well with dropbox.
- 1 for Fontcase, although admittedly, it has had it's share of bugs that seemed to have been fixed.
Taurean, how solid is Fontcase? I've been using Sketch by Bohemian Coding and like it but it's pretty buggy software.
I would say it's as buggy as sketch, definitely worth the money though.
Suitcase Fusion 4.
Been using FontExplorer
It's fast and stable. Good organization and searching. Let's me keep a handle on all the font files and only have to activate what I'm using instead of moving files around and waiting for each app to initialize every font.
