What an asshole.
I have no problem with the fact that he didn't ask in the beginning. It's the Internet.
The fact that he responded in the way he did, suggesting that Abduzeedo "stealing" this guy's images bumped his traffic and the owner should be happy that the images were "stolen", is such a dick move.
If you're caught "stealing" don't pretend you were doing the right thing, what the hell? Apologize and give something nice to the guy.
Some as well known as he is, I don't understand why he just couldn't ask. I think most people would be flattered for more exposure. I don't like his responses (or non-response), but meh.
The Internet is still the Wild West.
Dumb move sure, but there really isn't more to be done about it I think. He apologized, was polite and removed the images. I'm not sure what this guy is hoping to achieve.
I wouldn't really say polite, his response was loaded with sarcasm.
Really? I honestly don't pick up on that at all.
Christian, I'm sorry about it. I'll take those out immediately away from the post. I'm really sorry for any attention you might have gotten through this post. I figure this must have been annoying. Cheers, and sorry again.
That sounded like a genuine apology to me.
This part comes off as super snarky: "I'm really sorry for any attention you might have gotten through this post."
Ah, I just took it as a small translation error and thought he was referring to site traffic (bandwidth overages). but I may be giving him too much credit.
I read it the same way as you. Figured he was being genuine, but bad translation.
