Thanks for the interesting and informative article. Here is a lot of useful information for me. I am a beginner designer and want to create something interesting for an iPhone. I study many sites, the work of professionals like here https://store.ramotion.com/iphone-mockup. Please advise me something else useful for the development of my skills.

Hey Marc! Nice exploration of the new possibilities and struggles the iPhone X brings within UI design. I love your approach.

Nevertheless I wanted to drop in the iOS Human Interface Guidelines provided by Apple regarding the iPhone X. (https://developer.apple.com/ios/human-interface-guidelines/overview/iphone-x/)

When scanning through this document you'll see that basically the bottom navigation elements keep the same proportions with the introduction of the iPhone X. This is called Auto Layout. So no need for designers to really change the UI. It is very cool though!

    Compliments!

Thanks. Just to be clear: I didn’t write this article, but I like it. :)

Well yeah, using system ui elements. And you might not want to adopt the same approach for all cases — like Max's bottom-aligned buttons.
