Until the till people start paying for stuff, this will continue to happen. Sunrise was never going to survive as a stand alone product. And Microsoft didn't buy it for the fun of it. They bought it for talent .

Seeing Google Reader on this list gave me a lump in my throat. I still miss it so dearly. :(

It's one of the best thing happend in product space. Hope product guys learn from these mistakes and avoid making them by themselves.

Thanks a lot for sharing, @Sol Ray

This is great! I think my favorite thing about this is that while this just lists a bunch of software, I instantly think about the memories of using it. Nostalgia happens a lot for physical objects, but you don't get as many opportunities to experience that with digital products.

Shame the beautifully designed site is slapped with that default commenting theme.

Looks like it's powered by Disqus. Unfortunately, you are extremely limited in terms of customizing that default theme (can't even change the font).

I am very impress how many products they have listed.

Reminds me of the http://startupgraveyard.io/ that was posted a while ago.

Would be awesome/interesting to categorise these by the companies that bought them.

Yeah, seeing as how Opower (for example) was bought by Oracle, the "graveyard" connotation makes it sound like they failed...

Awesome site. Made me sad though to recognise so many awesome products that didn't make it :(

Is Zune considered dead if you can still use the first gen to keep your car from rolling when parked on a hill?

The site is awesome, love the illustrations and "Submit Autopsy Report"

Hi everyone, thank you for your comments! I actually built this site as a side project during my summer internship at Siftery. Hope you enjoy and please join in by contributing a funny story or eulogy for one of the featured products!

I am also looking for a Dribbble invite. If you have a spare one and can invite, I would greatly appreciate it! My account is: https://dribbble.com/ndduong97
