    I like the concept, I really do.

    My hangup is on the fact that it's positioned as "really good ux" with nothing to back up that it is really good besides the fact that the curator liked it... or that it conceptually makes sense.

    Interested to see how the grows and evolves. I'd be curious to see if there was a way to quantify or validate some of these items, even as an outsider to the company or experience.

      That's a great point. Some data on efficacy would be amazing, but that's hard to get and even harder to trust. At least it doesn't attempt to draw correlations between design and the company's overall success, right?

        Haaa that's true. Also agree that it'd be quite difficult to test, and probably why it isn't set up in that sort of way.

        I feel like on paper that snapchat should fail but it's still been pretty successful. Also I'm old and don't get it.

        I use Snapchat pretty regularly and I can see why some people might not be a huge fan of the UX. There are a lot of "hidden" features and the navigation is different from standards people are used to.

        From the main camera screen you can go up, down, left, or right two times and each bring you to a completely different section to the app. With the app there's a lot of "discovery" that the user is forced to do. I think it's designed intentionally but the result is that people can think it's innovative/fun/playful or confusing/hard to use.

          Very insightful, I agree completely. "Discovery" isn't always effective, it can actually often result in frustration and churn. I suppose I just happen to fall into the exciting/fun/playful group :)
