Nice to see more designers building their own products. I think Firebase may have been a bit easier to start building this, nice to see the process regardless.
I used Firebase on my previous project and really loved it. I agree with you it's probably much easier to build this with Firebase and seems like Google improved it a lot since the last time I use it. Maybe I will go back to it for the future project :) Thank you for the comment!
I honestly feel that digital designers who don't start diving into the world of (at the very least) front end development are seriously limiting their future employment opportunities. The whole world is going full-stack, might as well jump on board too.
I believe that understanding how your design will be developed will help you get better design.
awesome article. I'm kind of in the same place I know just enough dev to be dangerous. I tend to come out of the gate with awesome UX designs and stumble when I start developing. Its great to read that I'm not the only one and that it can be done.
