It is a best case scenario if you can tick all boxes he described in this post. That is far from reality. Who needs such tutorials? Young designers without much experience. That means they don't have much (or any) work behind them. They can only put some stuff they made up and crap like that. I find this post useless, another tutorial but agenda is to get more clicks and love I guess. It would be far more useful if he wrote how to build a nice portfolio when you have none or very little.
I agree that would be useful, but that would also be an entirely different post. I clicked this link expecting to roll my eyes but I actually thought it was a pretty accurate, clear, and useful set of reminders for the next time I refresh my stuff.
