Blackbox is one of those apps that's so good it makes me feel a twinge of jealousy as an Android user.
Love the behind the scenes photos!
You know the app store experience is broken, when I've only heard of two of these. I'm impressed every year by the design award winning apps. I hope the new app store has better ways of driving awareness for the best apps.
Wonder if they've given an award to AirMail because they don't like their own Mail app as much?!
AirMail 3 showcases how powerful productivity apps are supposed to work on all devices
I was slightly puzzled by the award for Airmail. I actually use the app as my main mail client on iOS - but it was only once I pushed past a pretty "meh" first experience with ugly default settings that Airmail impressed me. That doesn't seem very congruent with Apple design awards?
I was more than slightly puzzled, I have to admit.
I was a longtime Airmail user (on Mac I switched to Spark some time ago because of the terrible search they introduced with v3) and I was never able to look fully past the inconsistent design language, the strange colors and the weird glyphs. I remember when Airmail used Twitter's retweet icon as refresh icon (a square with arrow) in v2.
Giving the same award to Things or Reeder is almost absurd.
